12 yr old's video about Abortion

A friend of mine posted this on her facebook page recently and I stumbled across it today. Very touching video done by a 12 year old girl for her 7th grade class regarding abortion.

At the end the girl reads a quote from a story she read on Focus on the Family. It was the testimony of Sharon Osbourne and her experience with abortion at 17 years of age and its subsequent effects on her life. I googled "Sharon Osbourne abortion" and found quite a bit more information about this story.

Names of Jesus

We are studying the book of Revelation right now in my house church. While reading through this book, I noted how many different names/descriptions attributed to Jesus in this book. Here are a few that I noted:

* Him who is, and who was, and who is to come
* Faithful Witness
* Firstborn from the dead
* Ruler of kings of the earth
* Him who loves us
* Him who has freed us from our sins by His blood
* Has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve His God and Father
* Alpha & Omega
* the Almighty
* "like a son of man"
* the First and the Last
* the Living One
* was dead, and behold I am alive for ever & ever
* holds the keys of death and Hades
* Him who holds the seven stars in His right hand and walks among the seven golden lampstands
* Him who has the sharp, double-edged sword
* Son of God, whose eyes are like blazing fire and whose feet are like burnished bronze
* He who searches hearts and minds
* Him who holds the seven spirits of God and seven stars
* Him who is holy and true
* Him who holds the key of David
* the Amen
* the faithful and true witness
* the ruler of God's creation
* Lion of the tribe of Judah
* the Root of David
* Lamb
* Sovereign Lord, holy and true

Wow - we serve such a might and awesome Lord! Don't know about you but reading these things brings me comfort and peace, knowing this is the Lord I'm trying to follow.

Who is your Jesus?

Recently in an email on the Christian distribution list at work someone brought up a point which I found very profound.

We all say that it is believing in Jesus and confessing Him that is important. We may disagree on some items but believing in Jesus and confessing His name does us no good if the Jesus we believe in and confess is not the True Jesus revealed to us in God's Word.

Makes me stop and consider - the Jesus I confess, how does He measure up to the True Jesus?

O Lord, reveal to me where "my" Jesus has fallen short and strengthen me to make changes where they are needed. Truly knowing You is more important to me than being right. Where that may not be true in my heart, please transform me.
